"Anthropology " is LP album published from Spotlite label (LP-108) including WOR radio broadcast "Bands for Bonds" sessions (Nov 8. 1947).
This session is a radio program confront be boppers with traditional jazz players. The personnel is Bird. Fats Navarro. John LaPorta. Allen Eager. Lennie Tristano. Billy Bauer. Tommy Potter. and Buddy Rich.MC is Barry Ulanov.

But I wonder how Bird could talk about "Anthropology".
This album was perhaps published after his death.....

Kastena. There are some opinions.

*One day Parker ran over a bird by a car. He carry it back.
And he grill and eat it. He was called Bird since then.

*"Charlie Parker" is similar in accent to "Yardbird".

*He played altosaxophone freely like a bird flying. And its sound is like a bird twitter.

Hi I'm recently started listening to Charles Parkers Music and I loved it... but I have one question. Why do they Call him "bird" or "yard bird"? If anyone knows why please email me... asap. I saw and heard Bird playing in front of the Stan Kenton orchestra in 1954 in Spokane.Wash. He was magnificent to the
nth degree. He played Cherokee so fast and technically perfect
the crowd literally went nuts with me leading the parade!That Kenton band had Don Lanphere.Bob Cooper.Lee Konitz.Davey Schilkraut.and Serge Chaloff.and they were literally going out
of their minds listening to this master among masters. It was that day I knew there was a God for sure and he had blessed Bird
with everything he needed to get his point across. Remember this
is the only man I can think of that changed the music melodically.rhythmnically.harmonically.technically.emotionally
all at once! Also he changed all the instruments in the orchestra
to play his ideas. No other musician in history has done that!
